default_hitchcock_exc_02_0706251444_id_574561Until August 31st, Flinders University Library is celebrating film and filmmakers with a special exhibition of film artefacts in the Noel Stockdale Room and level 1 of the Central Library.  Some of the treasures on display include: working scripts of South Australia films such as Storm Boy, Gallipoli and Breaker Morant; Alfred Hitchcock’s own copy of the 1938 Film Daily Year Book; a 1937 poster for Mae West’s movie Go West Young Man; photographs of early Adelaide cinemas (c.1916-1925); and many press sheets, souvenir programs and pictorial magazines of screen news. The Library is also taking the opportunity to highlight its extensive collection of books on film as well as its many Anime, Asian cinema and classic Hollywood film titles.

We are very grateful to Professor Richard Maltby of Screen and Media and postgraduate student Dylan Walker for the loan of many of the items currently on display.
