Featured Database: Alexander Street

This week’s featured database is one of the Library’s most popular subscriptions, Alexander Street. Alexander Street curates primary-source collections, websites and streaming media for learning and research in pursuit of their mission to “make silent voices heard”:

“Whether it’s previously unseen plays by Pulitzer Prize winners, the first available full run of an important publication such as The Black Panther Party Newspaper, or otherwise inaccessible historical archives, we love bringing otherwise “silent” and hidden gems to scholars and students.”

Alexander Street is the world’s leading provider of academic streaming media to libraries, with strength in the fields of counselling, anthropology, history, diversity studies, theatre, film, music, dance, news, current affairs, and the social sciences.
