Ready for a study blitz in mid-semester?

If you are lucky, the next two weeks will be lecture-free. But plenty of assignments!

Check out these essential study systems and tips to make the most of your time. Heads up, that resolution of some issues may rely on University staff assistance, generally available on weekdays, 9am to 5pm (except public holidays).

Network Downtime

There is a scheduled upgrade to the Flinders University network on Saturday 24 April 2021, 8.30am – 11.30am, which will interrupt access to Library online resources. So, maybe plan a sleep in!

Public Holiday on Monday 26 April

ANZAC Day falls on Sunday 25 April and the public holiday will be observed on Monday 26 April. The Online Library, and spaces and collections at Central and Sturt will be available 24/7. No specialist Library assistance. The Medical Library will be closed. Library Opening Hours Term 2 starts Tuesday 27 April.

My Finances in Student System

Check that you have no outstanding debts in My Finances in the Student System. (For example, we suspect that many students get caught out by the Student Amenities Fee which was due mid March). An outstanding debt may incur a sanction and stop Library borrowing, auto-renewals, and block your access to some eReadings. (Note: payment of debts can take up to 3 days to clear.)

Student ID Card

If you intend to study on-campus, have your student ID card handy. Double-check that the card displays your current enrolment (under your photo). Your card will enable you to gain access to 24/7 areas on campus (including the Library at Central and Sturt) and borrow Library books using the self-check units.

A/H Building Access

The Library at Central and Sturt, the Hub, and Sturt Cafe are open to you 24/7 if you swipe in with your Student ID card. Email a photo of your student card to Security: security@flinders.edu.au or complete the building access form in Service One. If a door won’t open when you swipe your card, you may ring Security on 820 12880, and they will let you in–but you have to show your ID!
