Flinders University Library wishes everyone a restful end of 2023 and happy new year for 2024! Library staffed support services will take a pause while Flinders University is closed from 23 December to 1 January 2024 inclusive; during this period library buildings and information resources will continue to be accessible 24/7.
Search Support Drop-ins will run until 15th December and then take a break until semester 1.
Further details are listed below.
December 23 – 1 January
Flinders University will be closed during this period and the following library services will continue to be available:
- Library branches (excluding City Campus) will remain open via ID card access to staff and students. Security staff will continue to be accessible during this time.
- Access to computers, wi-fi, printers, and physical borrowing (using ID card at self-service borrowing machines) will remain as normal.
- Access to online resources will continue to be available 24/7 from any location, via Findit@Flinders.
- You can continue to borrow and request physical books, including placing Document Delivery and SendIt requests. Requests will be filled after 8th January.
If you have a question for the library during this time, please make sure you send it via email or Service One and someone will respond after staff return to work on 2nd January*.
From 2nd January onwards
With the exception of City Campus, library branches will reopen to the public (no ID card access required) and staff will be available to respond to queries via phone, online chat, email, Service One* and in-person at library Information Desks (excluding Tonsley Library Information Desk which will be staffed from Monday 8th January).
*There will be reduced availability of staff to respond to Service One requests between Tuesday 2nd January and Monday 8th January (for queries relating to research, teaching, records, archives, and copyright), so please be patient with us while we work on getting a response to you in the new year.
