Skill Spotlight: Time management and work-life balance

Welcome to this week’s HDR Development Bulletin.

This week we are focusing on the skill ‘Time Management and Work-Life Balance.’

As the end of the year approaches, it is a good time to pause and reflect on your energy levels, your research/work/life balance and any habits that may have crept their way into (or out of) your busy schedule. As you reflect, think about whether:

  • You need to create some time blocks in your calendar to allow you to prioritise certain tasks that cannot wait until the new year?
  • There is anything you can say no to? (Remember a yes to others when you are already busy creates a no somewhere else in your day).

You can find some resources relating to time management and work-life balance here on the REST FLO Site. Be sure to check out the resources page which has just had an update.

This week we encourage you to stop for 5 minutes, go sit in the sunshine (if you can), and gently check in with yourself about what you need to get through the silly season.

If you have a lot going on and would benefit from some extra support, please reach out via reply email and we can help connect you with Flinders Counselling service. Or you can contact them yourself using the details on this page. Take care.
