The End of an Era: Until Next Time Adelaide

Hard to believe my exchange is coming to an end. Living in Adelaide for the last few months has been amazing. I will miss exploring the city’s hidden gems by taking leisurely walks through its streets.

The orientation for international students during O’Week was instrumental in helping me make friends. Since then, these friendships grew, we bonded over our shared experiences and made the most of our time by attending live music shows together.

During my exchange, I visited Melbourne and Bali. Melbourne is an incredible city that should be at the top of your travel list if you’re in Adelaide. I had a great time in Bali as well, immersing myself in the vibrant culture, indulging in delicious and affordable street food, and exploring the breathtaking beauty of the island.

Back in Adelaide, there is never a dull moment either. The city offers a lot of events and activities, and I highly recommend checking out what’s happening before the weekends come around to make the most of your time. Some of my favourite things about this city are the live music at restaurants, dancing with strangers at Henley Beach, and Salty Sips weekly morning swims at Henley Beach.

My experience as an international student has been life-changing, and I will cherish the memories forever. I learned how to be independent, understand my strengths and weaknesses and learned how to adapt to new environments.

I am grateful to Flinders University for providing such a beautiful campus with breathtaking ocean views. The campus offers a wellness centre called OASIS, where I shopped at the student market and attended midday meditation sessions. It’s a serene and inviting space that added to my overall experience. Overall, my time in Adelaide and my adventures in Melbourne and Bali were absolutely amazing.
