Works around campus – 18 May 2022

Works in Laneway this weekend

Parts of the Laneway and outside of the Matthew Flinders Theatre will be resurfaced over this weekend, starting at 6am on Saturday 21 May until 6am on Monday 23 May.

The Laneway will remain open, however the areas to be resurfaced won’t be accessible and a detour will be in place through the Humanities courtyard. Please take care when moving through the area and follow any directions or signage in place.

Crane lift in car park 1

There will be a crane lift affecting the upper level of car park 1 this Saturday 21 May.

The footpath from car park 1 to the Hub will be temporarily closed while the works take place, reopening once the crane leaves. Please use the nearby ramps at Biology and next to the Sports Centre during this time instead.

Please slow down when driving through this space and follow any pedestrian detours and signage in place.

Learning Space Program – Social Sciences North 102, 242 and accessible ramp

Works start this week on an upgrade to learning spaces in the Social Sciences North building (rooms 102 and 242).

Some detours will be in place during the project so please follow directional signage in place. For any access assistance, please call Security on 8202 1880. We expect that works will be complete at the end of July 2022.

Access from car park 5 to SSN courtyard

If you have access requirements, please note that there will be additional temporary access parks on the upper level of car park 5, as well as the existing access parks on the lower level. Access from the upper level to the SSN courtyard will remain open. Access from the lower level of car park 5 to SSN will be unavailable during the project.

If you have an Australian National Disability parking permit or short-term support permit, you can also use access parks in nearby car parks 4 and 6 to avoid disruption.

Detour in place

Pedestrian detours during the works will be through SSN foyer past Flinders University Museum of Art (FUMA) while the work zone is in place.
