Thinking about how best to demonstrate our progress to our stakeholders

The DRS ResearchNow project team have recently been discussing the best way to visualise and process our work and how best to demonstrate our progress to our stakeholders. At the moment, quite a bit of the work on our Jira backlog is in the form of ‘Products’ or ‘Tasks’ and we’ve starting to think about how we might, instead, reflect our work as ‘Outcomes’ that can be demonstrated. This tweet from Greg McKeown (https://twitter.com/GregoryMcKeown/status/1088438279333138432) is along similar lines.

Greg is talking about reinforcing good behaviours, whereas we’ve been thinking about how every ‘sprint’, we could make sure the team can celebrate an outcome for our stakeholders based on the outputs we can demonstrate.  If we were to celebrate the fact that we could do this every sprint, we think it will build a momentum towards outcome/value based delivery.
