The News and Media team holds regular media training workshops throughout the year to equip Flinders researchers and teaching staff with the skills and confidence to engage effectively across print, broadcast and online media.
Participants will learn how to identify news and newsworthiness, understand the value of social media, present stories to generate media interest and enhance the public profile of the University, respond confidently in interviews and draft effective media releases.
The course, which runs for approximately three hours, will be held as often as required on the following schedule:
April – Faculty of Education, Humanities and Law
May – Faculty of Nursing, Medicine and Health Science
June – Faculty of Science and Engineering
July – Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences
August – Faculty of Education, Humanities and Law
September – Faculty of Nursing, Medicine and Health Science
October – Faculty of Science and Engineering
November – Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences
