In preparation for the new year, Information Technology Services would like to know staff’s software requirements for teaching in student laboratories, lecture theatres and tutorial rooms at Bedford Park, Victoria Square and Tonsley campuses.

As it is not practical to load all software across all computers for licensing and performance reasons, Teaching and Learning spaces have been grouped into eight geographic areas.

Shared computers in each area will have the same software installed to ensure it is available across more than one teaching space.

The geographic areas are described below and the list of current software versions applicable to each can be found here.

Area 1 – Central Library, Union and Student Hub
Area 2 – Sturt Campus
Area 3 – Health Sciences, Lecture Theatre Complex, Flinders Medical Centre
Area 4 – Humanities, Social Sciences North, Social Sciences South, Law and Education
Area 5 – Victoria Square Campus
Area 6 – Physical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Biology, Biology Discovery Centre
Area 7 – IS&T, Engineering
Area 8 – Tonsley Campus

Please note that any new licensed software must be discussed with ITS prior to its acquisition.

Costs for non-enterprise licensed software will need to be borne by your school or faculty and be bound by any associated licensing agreement.

If you require software that is not on the list, or would like existing software to be upgraded to a later version, please click here to submit your request.

This information is important to ensure applications are compatible with University computers and to confirm that software does not conflict with a number of existing applications that have already been tested and installed.

For this reason, please let ITS know as soon as possible, and no later than January 30, 2017.

ITS cannot guarantee that any requests received after this date will be ready in time for teaching in Semester 1, 2017.
