History and molecular science seminars will be held at Flinders this week, or view the Flinders Health Research Week program for cutting-edge health research being shared throughout the week.
Molecular Science & Technologies Seminar Series
(Previously the Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology Seminar Series.)
This week’s event will feature Dr Lara Malins from the Australian National University, who will deliver a lecture titled ‘Late-Stage Peptide Modifications: New Tools for Drug Discovery’.
While peptides are an increasingly important starting material for new pharmaceutical products, their use has some disadvantages, including including poor bioavailability and susceptibility to degradation. Dr Malins’ talk will summarise two new approaches to the modification of peptides, which may help make them more suitable for the discovery of new drugs.
Where: Room 0007 Physical Sciences, Flinders University Bedford Park
When: Thursday 6 September, midday
RSVP is not required; contact Nathan O’Brien for more information.
