Shining new light on OCD

The second event in the Social Transformation lecture series will discuss how new insights are shaping enhanced treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and hoarding disorder (HD).

Obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders are common and debilitating – with high rates of comorbidity and suicide, and high costs to public health.

Professor Kyrios is Vice President and Executive Dean in the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work. His talk will provide an overview of symptoms, new ways of understanding these disorders, and improved treatment options – focusing on Flinders’ work in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

The ‘Social Transformation’ lecture series is run by the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work, and profiles lead researchers focused on social transformation, for the interest of researchers, policymakers and the general public.
