Campus works update

Many building works are now underway across Flinders University’s Bedford Park campus, and have been scheduled to minimise disruption where possible. Our aim is to enhance and repair our spaces before the start of the new academic year. If you have any queries about any of our campus works, please contact us via Service One.

Car park 1: upper level

As part of the important safety works currently underway on Registry Road, buses are being redirected to the upper level of car park 1. For safety reasons, the redirection will remain in place until all the work on Registry Road has been completed – which we anticipate will be before Orientation. If car park 1 is full, please use one of the other car parks nearby. You can check car park availability on the parking wayfinding signs as you drive in, or in real time on the vPermit site.

The Registry Road works will bring enhancements to both the safety and amenity of the bus zone and shelters for our public transport users.

Car park 13 bus shelter

Works are nearly complete on the new bus shelter in car park 13. While works to the bench seat are being finalised, bus services will now return to car park 13 rather than the interim stop 26A on University Drive. Thank you for your patience while the new shelter was installed.

Reminder to slow down in car park 12

As work enters the final stages at the Station Plaza, we’d appreciate your assistance – for safety reasons – by not parking in any areas which are roped off or surrounded by bollards. Over the next few weeks, please be aware of increased activity in this area. Please slow down and take additional care as you travel through this area over the coming weeks, especially while workers are on site.

Window cleaning

As part of our work to prepare the campus for Orientation, window cleaners will be working across many buildings over the next week, including: PSB, The Terrace, Union Building, Student Hub (external, internal and Plaza east facing wall), Central Library, Matthew Flinders Theatre, Drama Centre, Oasis, Law & Commerce, Education, Engineering, McHughs, Biological Discovery Centre, Biological Sciences, Sturt Library, Optometry and Health 2 Go, and Tonsley.

If you have operable windows, please keep them closed when window cleaners are onsite. For safety reasons, some of the areas around and below these window locations may be temporarily inaccessible while cleaning occurs. Please follow any temporary pedestrian diversions in place.

Fruit fly

In recent weeks, multiple fruit fly outbreaks have been reported in the Adelaide metropolitan area and several regional areas of South Australia – and several outbreak and suspension area rules are currently in place. Please make sure you’re aware of the latest information, as this may prevent you from bringing some fruit and vegetables to and from campus. To keep up to date with current rulings, visit PIRSA’s website.
