Flinders University Library is proud to share the publication of our new Open Educational Resource (OER): Mental and Physical Health Dimensions, authored by Paul Cooper, Raymond Tini, and Alice Standfield.
This textbook is a collaborative effort between Flinders University and the University of South Australia and is published as part of the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) OER Collective.
Designed for students pursuing health degrees in Australia, this comprehensive and accessible resource explores the vital connection between mental and physical health. It takes an evidence-based, interdisciplinary approach and offers real-world applications grounded in the Australian health care context.
Key topics include:
- Mental health care in Australia
- Mental health promotion
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health and wellbeing
- Regulation of mind, body and behaviour
- Holistic wellness approaches
Structured for flexibility and depth, Mental and Physical Health Dimensions supports both foundational learning and professional development. It’s freely available to students and educators, helping to reduce financial barriers to education – saving students thousands of dollars annually in textbook costs.
This is the second book for Flinders University released under the CAUL OER Collective, marking another milestone in the Library’s commitment to open, accessible, and high-quality educational resources. We’re excited to see how this resource will support teaching and learning across health-related disciplines!
