Help shape the future of higher education by sharing your experiences as a student with a disability in a confidential research interview, contributing valuable insights to improve support and policies. Note: this research project is external to Flinders. Sent to me by Disability Services.
Are you a student with a disability who uses university Accessibility or Disability services? Your experiences could help shape a better understanding of what it means to succeed in higher education. A new PhD research project at Swinburne University is seeking participants to share their insights on navigating academic life with a disability. The study aims to capture valuable perspectives to redefine success in higher education and influence policy changes that foster a more inclusive environment.
Who Are They Looking For?
They are seeking students who are registered with university Accessibility or Disability services and require reasonable adjustments for their studies.
What’s Involved?
Participation involves a confidential online interview lasting approximately 30-45 minutes. The interview will be informal and is designed to capture your unique experiences and views. It will be recorded and transcribed, but all personal identifiers will be removed during analysis to ensure confidentiality.
Why Participate?
Your contribution will provide important insights that can help shape policies and support for students with disability in higher education. While there is no monetary compensation, your input will be invaluable for advancing research and creating more supportive learning environments.
How to Participate
Interviews will be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. If you would like to participate, please email the student investigator, Edwina Newham, directly (see email below) to provide two available times for the interview (Monday-Friday, during business hours). Please include any access requirements to ensure a smooth interview process.
