Get involved and/or have your say!

Feel like you’ve got a bit of scope to explore something new at Flinders? Two Flinders sites that can help you expand your university involvement.

If you clicked through to this post hoping for a deep insight about the human condition, you might be disappointed.

This one is far more practical.

A university experience can sometimes feel like something that happens to you. You’re told what lectures and tutorials to attend, what assignments to complete, and what exams to prepare for.

That’s a normal part of the process.

But there are also parts of university where you can be more active – where you can shape things, initiate ideas, and have a bit more agency.

This post is simply here to point you toward two options:

A catalogue of ways to get involved in university life, including mentoring, clubs, and even writing for BetterU.

A place to share ideas, suggestions, or constructive feedback with the Student Experience Team to help improve the university experience, facilities, or services.

You don’t have to get involved or share your ideas.

But I suspect that if you do, it’s something you’ll be glad you did when you look back on your time at uni.

When I reflect on my own university experience, I’m happy with how I approached my studies. But I do think I could have participated more in what was happening around campus. It probably would have helped me build friendships and develop a sense of identity beyond just “being a psychology student.”

Anyway – no pressure. Just sharing.

As you were!
