This research participation opportunity came through the Disability service. Check if it might be relevant to you or someone you know.
Have you ever felt unheard by the services and organisations in your life? The Listening Together research project from the Australian National University wants to hear from young people with disability and young carers about what good listening looks like—and how it can be improved.
What is the study about?
Led by Dr Laura Davy and Ms Molly Saunders, Listening Together explores how organisations and services listen (or fail to listen) to young people with disability and young carers. This research is co-designed with young people who have lived experience, making sure it reflects real voices and real concerns.
Who can participate?
You can take part if you:
✅ Are 15–29 years old
✅ Live in Australia
✅ Identify as a person with disability or a young carer (e.g., caring for a family member, friend, or someone with disability)
How can you get involved?
You have the choice between two surveys:
- The Long Survey (20–40 minutes): Asks detailed questions about your experiences with services, how you define good listening, and how people can listen better.
- The Short Survey (10–20 minutes): Has just seven questions and allows you to respond in ways that suit you—such as writing, drawing, photos, or an audio recording.
Both surveys are designed to be accessible, with screen-reader compatibility and audio-recorded questions.
Why participate?
Your insights can help improve how organisations listen to young people like you. By sharing your experiences, you can shape research that drives meaningful change.
How to take the survey?
The survey is open until June 20, 2025.
