Neurodivergent Voices at Flinders: Help Shape Support, Teaching, and Community

Neurodivergent students at Flinders are invited to co-create inclusive teaching practices and build a supportive community through two exciting new initiatives.

Are you a student who identifies as neurodivergent? There are peeps that want to hear from you!

Flinders is currently running two exciting initiatives that aim to amplify the voices of neurodivergent students and create a more inclusive learning environment.

🧠 Co-Design a Neurodiversity Module for Teaching Staff

LTI are inviting neurodivergent students to join a working group to help develop a Neurodiversity Module as part of the Fundamentals of University Teaching program. This is your chance to directly influence how teaching staff understand and support neurodivergent learners.

You’ll be working alongside staff with lived experience of neurodiversity to ensure the module reflects real needs, strengths, and perspectives.

Whether you want to be part of the working group or just provide feedback during development, we’d love to hear from you.

🤝 Meet Dan and Adi – Social Work Students Supporting Neurodiversity

As part of a 4-month Community Development Program placement, Dan and Adi, two Master of Social Work students, are working with the Student Learning Support Service (SLSS) and the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work to support neurodivergent students and staff.

Their focus? Establishing a Community of Practice for neurodivergent members of the Flinders community and exploring initiatives that reduce barriers to wellbeing and empower neurodivergent voices.

They’re based at SLSS on Level 2 of the Central Library every Wednesday and Thursday until the end of November. You can also find out about the initiative here (under construction).

If you’d like to get in contact with them, email is a great start:
