Friendly reminder that you need to complete the Consent and Respectful Relationships Module

Learn how to build respectful, safe, and consensual relationships AND meet the compulsory requirement.

At Flinders University, we’re committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone. As part of this commitment, all students are required to complete the Consent and Respectful Relationships online module.

Ok, sure, but what’s the module about?

This short course (around 45 minutes) is designed to empower you with the knowledge and skills to build healthy, respectful, and consensual relationships. Yeah, it’s a requirement, but it is also a chance to reflect on how we treat each other and contribute to a positive university culture.

Staff also need to complete a range of similar modules (I’ve done 3 this year), whilst they are compulsory (and can therefore elicit a rebellious response), I actually end up getting something from each of them.

But I do recommend setting aside a time where you can do it without rushing.

Where do I find it?

You’ve already been enrolled in the module on FLO (Canvas). Just log in and look for the Consent and Respectful Relationships course. You’ll receive an Achievement Badge once you’ve completed it.

👉 Start the Consent and Respectful Relationships Course (you might need to already be logged into FLO/Canvas for this link to work).

When do I need to complete it?

You’re expected to complete the module by the end of your first semester. So if this is your second semester and you haven’t completed it yet, you might get contacted.

What if I’m feeling unsure or distressed?

We understand that some of the content may be sensitive. If you feel that completing the module may cause distress, you can request an exemption by emailing consent.training@flinders.edu.au.
