Disability Scholarships at Flinders University – Opportunities to Support Your Studies


Four scholarships are available at Flinders to support students living with disability — from financial assistance to discipline-specific awards — making it easier to focus on your studies and future goals.


 

Disability Services wants to help spread the word about four scholarship opportunities for students living with disability at Flinders University. These are designed to help with study costs and support academic and career goals. Below is a quick snapshot of each one. Check eligibility and apply before the closing dates!

 

🧩 Community Bridging Services (CBS) Scholarship

  • Value: $3,500 (paid in two instalments)

  • Who it’s for: Students living with disability enrolled in any Flinders degree (undergrad, honours, postgraduate coursework) with an Access Plan registered with Disability Services.

  • What it supports: Students whose studies align with a community-focussed career and who can show how the scholarship will help them succeed.

  • Apply by: 13 March 2026 (opening 19 Dec 2025)

⚖️ Matthews Lawyers Disability Law Scholarship

  • Value: $3,000 (approx; check official details)

  • Who it’s for: Students living with disability enrolled in a law degree at Flinders with an Access Plan that affects learning.

  • Eligibility highlights: Australian or NZ citizens, permanent residents or humanitarian visa holders, demonstration of financial need, and satisfactory academic progress.

  • Selection: Based on managing learning barriers, how the scholarship will help achieve goals, and academic merit.

 

🔬 Matthew Lawyers Disability Forensic Science Scholarship

  • Value: $5,000 (paid in two instalments)

  • Who it’s for: Students living with disability enrolled in forensic science at Flinders, with an Access Plan for a disability impacting learning.

  • Eligibility: Includes specific learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD, autism), financial need, and satisfactory academic progress.

  • Selection: Based on how barriers have been managed, impact on goals, and academic merit.

 

💛 Flinders Disability Scholarship (New!)

  • Value: $6,000 per year (up to four years), paid $3,000 per semester

  • Who it’s for: Full-time students with disability undertaking an undergraduate degree and experiencing financial hardship.

  • Availability: Five scholarships per year.

  • Eligibility highlights: Must have or be seeking an Access Plan, demonstrate financial hardship or be on means-tested government payments, and be an Australian/NZ citizen or permanent resident.

  • Flexibility: Part-time study permitted with documentation in certain circumstances (e.g., disability or carer responsibilities).
