I’m updating this as I get more information from different Student Life services, but here is what I know already about opening hours of support services during the holiday break. This includes things like the health service, counselling, disability, Oasis, SSWAs, International Student Services (ISS) and more.
Health and Counselling Services 🧑🏻⚕️
Health (GP) and Counselling services are closed from 1pm on Wednesday 24th December, reopening at 9am on Monday 5th January.
For a counselling crisis you can phone or text the Flinders Out of Hours Crisis Line – phone 1300 512 409 or text 0488 884 103.
In case of a campus emergency, please contact Flinders Security on (08) 8201 2880.
If you have a medical emergency, phone 000.
Marion Domain Medical Centre is open daily.
After hours, consider one of the telehealth doctor options [note: we aren’t endorsing these services as we don’t have a relationship with them, but they might meet your needs]
If you have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) please visit Medcare (check with your health fund fees apply).

The Disability Service is open until close of business on Tuesday 23rd December, and then reopens on Monday, 5th January at 9am.
Those of you who need to get your access plans renewed next year are encouraged to get in contact early in 2026. Throw a reminder in your diary 📅
Students who want to create an access plan for 2026 are encouraged to get in contact with Disability Services before the commencement of the semester (i.e. before 23rd February) to avoid a wait. You should also throw a reminder in your diary.
Oasis Student Wellbeing Centre 🏪
The Oasis Student Wellbeing Centre will be closed from 1pm December 24th, reopening at 9am on January 5th.
Those of you who use Oasis are encouraged to stick close to their socials, particularly Instagram as they will be doing some socials posts about what supports you can access during the break.
It includes things like the Out of Hours Crisis Line, Lifeline, Beyond Blue, Lived Experience Telephone Service, Community Connections Program and many more. Important information for those who might feel a bit isolated over the holiday period.
Student Success and Wellbeing Advisors ❤️🩹
There will be a pause in student appointments over the break, but you can go online and select ‘book appointment’, and the system will show the next available session.
You can also email supportnetwork@flinders.edu.au for other assistance which will be monitored except the closedown period (from lunchtime 24th December to 9am 5th January).
International Student Services (ISS) 🌍
The ISS team will have the following service hours:
- Open until the 24th December, 1pm
- Closed from 24th December 1pm to 5th Jan 9am
- Open again from 9am on the 5th Jan
ISS would like to remind students:

They aren’t strictly ‘Student Life’ but they are a very important source of information for many student requests.
