Volunteer opportunity for Uni students for Mental Health Month 🙋🏽‍♀️

This was shared to me by Sascha Lemon-Spence, the USEP consultant here at Flinders.

It is a volunteering opportunity with The Mental Health Coalition of South Australia to help them put together Mental Health Awareness Month in October.

This volunteering opportunity would be eligible for Horizon points.

Are you passionate about Mental Health Awareness? Do you enjoy building, creating and participating? The Mental Health Coalition of South Australia is looking for an enthusiastic lineup of all-rounder volunteers to help us put together Mental Health Awareness Month this October.

About the program: Mental Health Awareness Month is a series of events, campaigns and activities put together with the aim to increase community understanding of mental health and reduce stigma by encouraging South Australians to share and learn from lived experience.

About the volunteer role: We are looking for people willing to dedicate some of their time and skills to help us set up installations, take tickets at events, distribute flyers, and a variety of other tasks throughout the month. There will also be opportunities to participate or view events that you are volunteering at!

Unfortunately these are not paid roles. However, most jobs will be brief and fun and you will receive a certificate of recognition for your support. Volunteering through Mental Health Month will also provide excellent opportunities to connect with those working in the arts, mental health promotions, and preventative mental health care – particularly at our largest event Festival of Now, where the community and mental health sector come together to celebrate wellbeing.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, please fill out the form attached below by 1st September 2021.
