Last chance to join Be Well Plan starting 13th May

Overview: Been thinking about working on your mental health? Taking final RSVP for the Be Well Plan kicking off 13th May. Reading time ~ 2 minutes.

The first Be Well Plan at Flinders for 2022 kicks off on the 13th May (this coming Friday) at Oasis Community Centre from 10am to 12pm for five consecutive weeks.

There is still room if you want to join.

‘What is the Be Well Plan?’, you might ask and that is a fair question 😊

The Be Well Plan is a mental health and resilience program developed by an excellent team at Be Well Co from SAHMRI. Flinders researchers and clinicians have played a role in its development.

The program teaches you how to assess your mental health and wellbeing, select evidence-based activities to build those aspects that are important to you and turn them into habits.

The program was even evaluated with students, showing improved “mental health and well-being, including mental well-being, resilience, depression, and anxiety. Participant satisfaction scores and attendance indicated a high degree of engagement and satisfaction with the program”.

This particular instance of the Be Well Plan is also special because it is the first time I have been able to deliver the program f2f for a couple of years.

If you’ve been thinking that you should make mental health and wellbeing a priority at the moment, this is a great program to get started with. You’ll get a great introduction to the latest psychological techniques for improving mental health and the chance to do the work with like-minded others.

To take part, just email me before the 13th May – gareth.furber@flinders.edu.au
