Flinders Mates – connecting international and domestic students for cultural exchange

Overview: The Flinders Mates program originally got sidelined because of COVID but you can’t keep a good idea down. The program has now been up and running for a Semester and the groups are looking to expand. See post for details. Reading time ~ 1 minute.

Flinders Mates is back!

Flinders Mates connects Australian and International students for conversation and fun times. Flinders Mates is a great way to meet interesting people, expand your intercultural intelligence and build global networks. Sessions are run by student facilitators who create a safe and informal space for people to connect around conversation.

Flinders Mates celebrates the diversity of the Flinders community and the strength of student-led events to create new networks amongst students. It is about building networks that leverage and honour the different cultural groups here at Flinders.

Now that many students are heading back to campus (including our International students) this is a great way to kick-start your networks.

How can I get involved?

If you are interested in becoming a facilitator you can email oasis@flinders.edu.au

If you want to come along and just enjoy the sessions as a participant, they are held on Mondays and Wednesdays 12.00pm-1.00pm at Oasis Community Centre (J7 on the campus map).

Sessions are active NOW!

You don’t need to bring anything, just yourself and a willingness to meet new people.

Come and chat with new friends- see you there!

If you’ve got questions email oasis@flinders.edu.au
