Pronouns and LGBTQ terminology guides to read and share.

As we head towards IDAHOBIT on the 17th May, familiarise yourself with the language of the LGBTQ community.

You might have seen a previous post from me about the Pride Network event on the 17th May.

Following up on that, having recently done the staff Foundations of LGBTQ Inclusion training, I wanted to share a couple of resources from that training.

The first is a Pronouns Guide, helping you understand what pronouns are, different types, why using correct pronouns is important and how to use them.

The second is a LGBTQ Terminology guide helping you understand the different terms used to describe diversity in sex, gender, gender expression and sexual orientation.

Understanding and welcoming diversity in the Flinders community helps everyone feel at home here. A little bit of education can go a long way in helping you make others feel welcome.

If these are helpful to you, please consider sharing.
