Regional visits of support services – 5th-13th May – Mt Gambier and Renmark

Are you a reader of BetterU? Are you located in Mt Gambier or Renmark? Some of the student support team are headed your ways!

One word that has never really been used to describe me is adventurous.

Yet, I am a little jealous of the road trip that some of my colleagues are taking to regional campuses over the coming fortnight.

Details as follows!

Flinders support services are going regional. Road trip!

As part of Wellbeing Week and the weeks around it, a visiting support team will be popping up at regional campuses to offer students in-person help with study, planning, assignments, library resources, wellbeing, and general student support.

The visiting team includes staff from Student Success & Wellbeing Advisors, Student Learning Support Service, the Library, FUSA, and BetterU depending on the location.

There will be a mix of 1:1 pop-up support and support service stalls, so you can either sit down for personalised assistance or simply drop by, say hello, collect useful information, and grab a giveaway.

No appointment is needed for the 1:1 support sessions. They are first-come, first-served, so you may need to wait a few moments if the team is already speaking with another student.

The Mount Gambier visit runs from 5–7 May, with support available at the Medicine – Vivienne Ave campus and Allied Health – TAFE locations.

The Renmark visit runs from 12–13 May, with support available at Renmark High School for Nursing and Allied Health students, and Ral Ral Ave Campus for Medicine students.

These visits are a great reminder that support at university is not just something that exists “somewhere else.” It can come to you. Sometimes quite literally, in a car, early in the morning, probably with snacks.

So, if you’re studying regionally and could use help with assignments, time management, planning, finding resources, or figuring out what support is available, keep an eye out for the visiting support team.

Come say hi. Ask a question. Pick up a resource. Make the most of having the teams on campus and in person.
