If you are fortunate enough to get some time off this mid-year break, how do you think you’ll use it?
Just a quick message, from the Team at BetterU, wishing all students a happy mid-year break.
I’m curious how you will all use the time.
When I get a break from work, the most likely things to happen are:
- I spend at least a day on the couch, bingeing TV shows and snacks. It might stretch to 3 days.
- Then I get a little bit antsy and feel I should be doing something, so I get out in the garden.
- Then I am likely to end up in a garden shop buying new plants.
- Then I get sick of the outdoors and decide to bring an old computer sitting in the corner back to life.
- Then I start buying computer parts on Amazon.
- Then I end up in a long chat with AI about financial planning.
- Then I decide for some reason to make a cake.
- Then I eat the whole cake.
- ………
Now that I read it back, I don’t suggest using this as a template for your break.
But however you do use your time, we look forward to welcoming you back in late July.
If you don’t get a break, because of work or study intensives or you are doing a PhD (or another reason), I hope you do at least get a bit of a change of scenery. Even just a little rejigging of the schedule and some novelty can provide a small motivational boost.
If you are feeling brave, feel free to put how you’ll spend your break in the comments below (use your Flinders login). Otherwise, see you soon 😊
