Were you hoping to return home during the summer but COVID-19 has put a dent in that plan?
First up, I want to acknowledge that would be hard. I would struggle to not be around family and friends during the holiday break.
Knowing that many students will be going through this this year, efforts have been made here at Flinders, but SA more broadly to ensure there are activities during the summer period to keep those students who aren’t able to head home entertained and connected.
You can find out about such activities at the recently updated Summer Break Series web-page on the student portal.
“If you’re away from home this summer, wanting to make new friends or looking for something to do, participating in events and activities is a great way to meet new people, build your skills, have fun and celebrate the achievements of the academic year just gone.
This page is your one-stop-shop for all the events and activities happening at Flinders and across Adelaide during the summer. We have compiled the events for you, so all you have to do is enjoy!”
The collated events don’t just include fun events but also discounted activities, professional development, study skills and volunteering.
They aren’t just limited to Flinders events either, with links to Study Adelaide’s program, City of Adelaide, Adelaide Festival, City of Marion, Art Gallery, SA Walking Trails and lots more.
Perhaps there is something happening around Adelaide that can help fill the gap of not being able to head home.
