International Student Services (ISS) are trialling a new initiative at the City Campus to help international students avoid unnecessary stress. Details in post.
Every semester, international students run into challenges that are often completely avoidable, but only if someone shows them how the system works.
Missed payment or census dates can lead to unexpected fees or debt. Unfamiliarity with FLO, enrolment, email, quizzes or submission processes can cause stress, failed assessments, or delays in study progress. And trying to work it all out alone can make university feel much harder than it needs to be.
That’s why International Student Services is hosting I wish I knew that…, a practical, student-focused support session for international students at Flinders City Campus.
In this session, you’ll learn how to:
- understand important academic and financial deadlines
- confidently use key university systems like FLO, enrolment and email
- avoid common mistakes that can cost you time, money and stress
- know where and how to get help when you need it
- set yourself up for a smoother, more successful semester
This session is especially useful if you’re new to Flinders, new to studying in Australia, or simply still working out how everything fits together.
You’ll also have the chance to meet other students and enjoy some free snacks.
