A colleague of mine pointed me towards an online course that might be of interest to international students.
Family Planning Victoria has created a free online sexual health resource for international students to enable them to have a great time and take care of themselves whilst studying in Australia.
Their eLearning module provides a comprehensive overview of sexual and reproductive health to ensure all international students can enjoy positive sexual health and wellbeing.
Learning modules
The course covers the following key areas:
- Dating in Australia
- Taking care of your sexual health
- Contraception options and unintended pregnancy
- Access to sexual health services (these won’t be as relevant to you as they will be Victorian based services)
Language details
The information in this course is provided in multiple language including English, Arabic, Dari, Karen, Punjabi, Somali, Tamil, Vietnamese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Urdu and Hakha Chin.
Cost
Free for international students studying at a Victorian-based University, College or TAFE (we received an email suggesting that SA students can enrol in the course, but depending on numbers, places have to go to Victorian students first).
Enrolment/registration
Visit https://enrol.vetenrol.com.au/(S(dod0lptewjvl5ipuccjhgboj))/Enrol?468332533 and enter your details. We can’t guarantee that SA students will be given access (as it is a Victorian initiative) but it is worth a try if this topic is of interest to you.
