Last call for wellbeing ambassador applications

Overview: Last call for students who want to become Wellbeing Ambassadors for 2022. A great chance to see how wellbeing events at Flinders are run and even get a chance to shape them yourself. Details in post. Reading time ~ 2 minutes.

The Wellbeing Ambassador program here at Flinders is an initiative of the Oasis Wellbeing Centre.

Wellbeing Ambassadors are students who volunteer their time to help run wellbeing related events and programs here at Flinders. They are typically students who have an interest in health, mental health and wellbeing and who want to support their peers.

In the past Wellbeing Ambassadors have been involved in RUOK? Day, the Good Vibes Experiment, Uni Mental Health Week and more.

In exchange, Wellbeing Ambassadors get access to a range of training programs like Mental Health First Aid, Accidental Counsellor which advance their work skills and look great on the CV.

The application process for 2022 Ambassadors has gone on a little longer this year, due to a very busy first quarter, but the process closes on the 26th April 🔐

Hence this is the last call for those students wanting to become an Ambassador!

The process is simple – email oasis@flinders.edu.au with your name, FAN and subject title “Wellbeing Ambassador” and Oasis will send you some forms to complete 📧

If you are a little unsure, I recommend applying anyway and you can always change your mind if it doesn’t turn out to be what you thought it would. The total time commitment is no more than an hour a week (averaged out) and Horizon points are attached.

For those of you in health and allied health degrees, it is a chance to get a feel for what health/mental health events look like at the community level. For those in non-health degrees, it is a chance to gain experience in a different area that will significantly widen your work-ready skillset.

Go on…..you know you want to 😋
