Overview: The Oasis Community Centre on the Bedford Park Campus is slowly coming back to life. Consider a visit and maybe making it a crash space during breaks in your daily schedule. Reading time ~ 2 minutes.
I’ve been doing a little bit of teaching at the Oasis Community Centre recently. It has been wonderful to be back in that space.
The centre was closed for much of 2020 and 2021 and only recently reopened in 2022.
Students had been denied access to the centre for so long, that it took a while before students started making their way back to the centre.
Now we are slowly starting to see the signs of life again. Students having a conversation in the corner, doing some work, filling up their water bottles, running club sessions in the main room.
Programs/services are also happening again – Mindful Yoga, Flinders Market, Meditation, Friday Prayer, Be Well Plan, Conversation Groups, Flinders Mates, Medibank on Campus.
If you study at the Bedford Park campus, we (Oasis Team) invite you to come and see the space.
We are the building sitting on the side of the hill, opposite car park 5 and the laneway. Enter the building and head down the stairs to find the Oasis space.
Usually there will be someone there to say hello – Sarah, Chaplains Dave or Deb, Volunteers. But if not, feel free to make yourself at home in a nice comfy spot and take a time out.
