Student Success and Wellbeing Advisors (SSWA)

Flinders continues to grow its resources and people that have student wellbeing in mind. Meet the SSWA’s.

I sit in a little cupboard of an office in the Student Centre.

Opposite me (across the hallway) is a big room housing the newish team of Student Success and Wellbeing Advisors (SSWA) – Melissa and Mikayla currently.

They are part of a broader initiative to revitalise services and supports for student to improve the student experience.

I asked them for a description of what they do and how students (and staff for that matter) can connect with them. They were only too happy to oblige.

A great addition to what is a comprehensive student wellbeing services offering.

For more details on who they are, what they do, and how you can contact them, visit their freshly baked new website.

Our team of Student Success & Wellbeing Advisors (SSWA) is here to help you succeed, both academically and personally. We want to help you find your own path to success, and we’ll work with you to overcome any challenges you’re facing.

No matter where you are in your studies, our SSWAs can offer personalised support and information to help you navigate life at Flinders.

Here’s how we can help:

🔹 Get your studies on track: We can help you with motivation, planning, and accessing study skills support.

🔹 Identify and achieve your goals: We can help you set goals and develop a plan to reach them.

🔹 Navigate the university system: We can help you understand the university system and how to get the most out of your time here.

We can also help you connect with other services on campus, if needed. We know that it can be tough to know where to start, so we’re here to help you figure out what you need and how to get the right help.

You can request support via the request help button at Flinders Support Network, or by email to supportnetwork@flinders.edu.au
