What is Dreamy?

Dreamy is a unique project by Common Ground, a First Nations not-for-profit that celebrates storytelling and education. First launched in 2021 as a collaboration with Snapchat and Ogilvy, Dreamy combines storytelling with music, poetry, breathing techniques, and visualizations. These mindful audio stories are freely available for streaming, along with learning kits to deepen your understanding and connection.

The stories transcend Western notions of place and time, carrying you through desert Country, saltwater Country, river Country, and beyond. They invite you to slow down, listen deeply, and bask in the present moment. Dreamy exists not only to help people feel calmer and more grounded but also to celebrate First Nations creativity and innovation.

What Does “Country” Mean?

For First Nations people, Country is a term that holds profound meaning. It refers to the lands, waters, and skies connected through ancestral ties and family origins. But Country is more than a place—it is alive, timeless, and deeply connected to identity. Country is often spoken of as we would a person: Country is sick, Listen to Country, Country needs time to heal.

By listening to Dreamy, you can connect to Country in a deeply personal way, wherever you are.

Why Explore Dreamy?

Dreamy offers more than just relaxation—it’s an opportunity to reflect, learn, and build a deeper understanding of our shared responsibility to know and care for the lands we dream on. Whether you’re seeking calm, connection, or a new perspective, Dreamy is a beautiful way to experience the wisdom of the First Storytellers.

Take a moment to slow down and explore Dreamy. Quiet your mind, connect to Country, and let these stories carry you wherever you need to go.
