As we approach the end of semester, it’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed—assignments are piling up, deadlines are looming, and sometimes you just need a bit of guidance to get things back on track. That’s where Student Learning Support Services (SLSS) comes in.
SLSS is there to help you feel more confident and capable in your studies. Whether you’re just trying to polish your writing, improve your referencing, or make sense of academic English, SLSS offers a whole bunch of ways to support you—no matter your degree or study mode.

🎓 One-on-One Consultations (By Referral)
Sometimes you need a deeper dive. You can be referred by a lecturer or support staff to a 50-minute consult with an SLSS specialist. These are especially helpful if you’re struggling with a tricky academic skill or need to bounce back after an academic integrity issue.
💬 In-Class Support (Organised by Lecturers)
If you’ve ever had someone from SLSS visit your class—it’s because your lecturers care! SLSS can join classes to run mini-workshops or answer questions on common struggles like referencing or essay structure.
Why This Matters for Your Wellbeing
We primarily talk about mental health here at BetterU and academic stress is one of the biggest contributors to how you’re feeling during the semester. Reaching out early for support with your learning can make a massive difference to both your academic performance and your peace of mind.
So take a deep breath, check out what SLSS offers, and take that next step. You’ve got this—and you don’t have to do it alone.
