I’ve been meaning to install these tools myself to be honest. Now none of us have an excuse. In this post learn about Read & Write and OrbitNote and how to install them.
If you’re looking to get started with Read&Write or OrbitNote, Everway (the creators of these tools) have released a clear, step‑by‑step installation video that walks you through setting them up on your device.
We’re sharing it here because many students ask how to install the tools, and this official guide covers all the basics in one place.
🛠️ What are Read&Write and OrbitNote?
Read&Write A literacy and study support toolbar designed to make reading, writing and organising information easier. Students commonly use it for:
- text‑to‑speech (listening to readings)
- highlighting and collecting notes
- vocabulary and word‑prediction tools
- simplifying complex text
- proofreading and editing support
OrbitNote A PDF annotation tool that works hand‑in‑hand with Read&Write. It lets you:
- highlight and comment on PDFs
- add text boxes, audio notes and annotations
- use Read&Write features directly inside your PDFs
- make scanned PDFs more accessible
Both tools are available free to all Flinders students and can make study feel smoother, especially if you prefer multimodal learning or benefit from accessibility supports.
