Oh hey there! Imagine seeing you here! Did you know Wellbeing Week is coming up? When you get to the level of power that we have in wellbeing services, we can just claim a week for ourselves. So we have.
New students join the Flinders community at least twice a year, at the beginning of the year and then halfway through.
Each intake gets an Orientation and that orientation actually spreads out over a few thematic weeks. There’s typically the main orientation week, a connect week, a success week, and a wellbeing week!
We just came out of Success Week and looking forward, we have Wellbeing Week coming up, from the 9th to 13th September.
The Orientation team, along with various wellbeing services like Oasis are currently organising their events, but at present, the big picture plan is:
- Monday 9th September = City Campus activation
- Tuesday 10th September = Thrive Festival (Law and Commerce building, Bedford Park)
- Wednesday 11th September = Wellbeing Expo (Bedford Park)
- Thursday 12th September = RU OK Day events happening across multiple campus locations
- Friday 13th September = Mooncake Festival, a collaboration between ISS, Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) and Vietnamese Students Association (VSF), Bedford Park Student Hub 12pm – 3pm
Once the full program is set, details will appear on https://students.flinders.edu.au/uni-life/wellbeingweek and I will make sure to do another blog post to let you know it is live.
In the meantime, warm up your wellbeing muscles (whichever those ones are) and prepare for action!
Whilst wellbeing is my area, I won’t be doing too much for wellbeing week (I do wellbeing all the other weeks!), but city students might see me in their topics with one of the city counsellors doing a brief overview of services and a quick mindfulness or similar exercise.
