Launch of the Learning Lounge Online

It is strange how life works. I had just finished authoring an email about the importance of learning how to study and why Student Learning Support Services (SLSS) are so important. Then I see that they’ve launched a new Online Learning Lounge.

The Student Learning Support Service is pleased to announce the launch of the Learning Lounge Online. This new addition to our services enables us to support a broader range of student cohorts effectively.

The Learning Lounge Online offers students the opportunity to meet virtually with our knowledgeable Learning Advisors via Microsoft Teams.

Regular sessions will be held in one of our usual 11 AM – 1 PM timeslots, and we are introducing night sessions from 6 PM – 8 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

These extended hours aim to address the growing needs of our students, including those enrolled in Flinders Online, as well as providing additional support for rural, regional, remote students, working families, and increasing the accessibility of our services. The Learning Lounge Online will continue to offer the same high-quality Learning Lounge services that have been appreciated by our students, including assistance with:

  • Understanding assignment requirements
  • Structuring assignments
  • Expressing ideas more clearly
  • Enhancing academic writing style
  • Understanding referencing conventions
  • Improving understanding and application of grammar rules
  • Refining self-editing skills
  • Updating numeracy skills
