REVITALIZED Wellness Program

The REVITALIZED Wellness Program helps staff and students achieve an improved quality of life through exercise, diet, social connections and large dose of education and encouragement. The wellness program will be overseen by qualified exercise scientists and nutritionists.

The primary aim of the REVITALIZED Wellness Program is two-fold:

to provide evidence-based, supervised exercise and nutrition programs to current Flinders University staff and students to promote optimal work/study productivity, mood/quality of life, and general health and fitness
to provide meaningful experiential learning opportunities for our exercise science and nutrition students.

Are you eligible?

The REVITALIZED Wellness Program provides our students an opportunity to work with Flinders University staff or students who are not currently physically active. To participate in this program you:

are currently insufficiently active for good health*
are not requiring a rehabilitation program for a specific injury or condition (ie type 2 diabetes, stroke, chronic low back pain).
*Guidelines for good health require that you complete 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity at least 5 times per week and you do muscle strengtening activities at least 2 days per week.

What the service provides

We provide a 10-week program which includes an initial and final assessment session, and ‘one-on-one’ individualised training program for 8 weeks (2 sessions per week; a total of 16 sessions), plus a group training session during the mid-semester break.

The initial consult serves to identify your limitations, goals and specific needs. Based on the initial consult, certain pre- to post-health, fitness, and nutrition assessments are then performed to aid exercise and nutrition programming, and to monitor your progress. Education on a variety of exercise, health, and nutrition topics will be provided.
