Discover “Mindful Moments” at Our City Campus

Take a mindful moment at our city campus, where every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 PM, you can enjoy guided meditations to boost your wellbeing and academic focus, no registration required.

At the time of writing this, I still haven’t visited the City Campus (come on Gareth, get your s*&t together).

But that doesn’t mean great things aren’t happening there.

Case in point, Mindful Moments.

↘️

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the fast pace of university life? Do you find yourself constantly juggling assignments, lectures, and personal responsibilities, wishing for a moment of peace?

Counsellors at our city campus have just launched ‘Mindful Moments’ to help provide some moments of tranquillity and focus amidst the hustle of city life.

Mindfulness at its core is about embracing the present moment with full awareness and engagement. Whilst it has almost become a buzzword, it is actually a practice backed by extensive research indicating significant benefits for wellbeing and academic success. For example, a 2018 meta-analysis pointed to the potential positive impacts of mindfulness meditation on anxiety in college students. A 2016 narrative review suggested mindfulness shows promise as a way of reducing stress and anxiety in college students.

“Mindful Moments” are simple guided meditations led by our experienced counsellors. These sessions are not only a gateway to developing your mindfulness skills but also an opportunity to momentarily step away from the demands of your daily routine.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • When? Join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 PM. It’s the perfect mid-afternoon break to reset and recharge.
  • Where? Find your peaceful corner in Counselling room 208. It’s a space dedicated to your mental and emotional rejuvenation.
  • What to Expect? Allow our counsellors to guide you through a straightforward meditation session designed to alleviate stress and enhance your concentration. Each session lasts for about 10 minutes, making it a perfect fit for even the busiest schedules.

Best of all, no registration is required. Our doors are open to all. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner of mindfulness or new to the concept, “Mindful Moments” are tailored to welcome everyone. It’s an invitation to take a step back, breathe, and immerse yourself in a moment of self-care and introspection.
