LifeHacks Drop-In Sessions are a casual chat in the Oasis lounge – in the comfy chairs with your fellow students to hear from each other about how you solve some of life’s problems.
The session will be facilitated by Counsellor Chris who will also provide you with evidence based practical tools, techniques and strategies to help you improve both your wellbeing and academic performance.
No need to book – just turn up. Free tea and coffee available.

When we set a goal, we often focus on the big actions that will make them a reality. However, committing to small habitual actions each day is more likely to make a difference in the long run. This session will help you develop a deeper understanding of the power of habits and how tiny changes can make a big difference.
MOVE TOWARD THE LIFE YOU WANT IN 2025
Week 2 – Wed 6 August – 2:00 – 2:30pm
Knowing our values and what matters to us deep in our hearts can help us find direction, provide an ‘inner compass, help us stay on track and help us to find our way again when we go off track. In this session, we will provide you with the tools to begin clarifying your values and set some meaningful and realistic goals to make 2024 your best ever!
SLEEP – MOVE – EAT – LIVE WELL
Week 4 – Wed 20 August – 2:00 – 2:30pm
We have all heard that getting a good night’s sleep, engaging in regular exercise and ensuring we’re getting the right nutrients and staying hydrated is so important for our mental and physical health. In this workshop will dive into very practical evidence based strategies to improve your mood, focus and how much we can squeeze out of life!
PUT OFF PROCRASTINATION & MANAGE YOUR TIME
Week 5 – Wed 27 August – 2:00 – 2:30pm
Discover why we all procrastinate and learn effective time management techniques, strategies to overcome distractions, stress management tips, and accountability methods. We will discuss practical strategies to work with the thoughts and feelings that can get in the way of our academic success, Join us and master your time!
STRESS LESS & MANAGE ANXIETY
Week 6 – Wed 3 September – 2:00 – 2:30pm
Stress is a normal part of life and study. Stress shows us that what we are doing is important to us. In this workshop, you will learn to make stress your friend and not your enemy and how to keep it at a level where it can be helpful and not a hindrance and spur you on to academic and personal success.
CREATE THE RELATIONSHIPS YOU WANT
Week 7 – Wed 10 September – 2:00 – 2:30pm
Sometimes relationships can feel like the hardest thing in the world! However every aspect of life involves interacting with other humans. This workshop will discuss how you can be your best through learning enhanced positive communication skills, relationship attitudes and regulating your emotions.
DUMP DIGITAL DISTRACTION & FIND YOUR FOCUS
Week 8 –Wed 17 September – 2:00 – 2:30pm
It can feel like we all have an addiction to technology in one form or another right? Learn practical techniques to set boundaries with your phone and other technology and to gain control over your attention, boost productivity, and achieve academic success. We’ll cover how to create the best study environment so that you can smash out those study goals in record time!
