Meditation is all the rage…
There is some decent science to back it up, and if you practice it regularly for at least 20 years, I am pretty sure you can see through the illusion that is the concept of the self. You may even be able to transport yourself to another parallel universe in which a version of you has done all of your assignments.
Getting started with meditation can be as simple as attending Dave’s meditation sessions on Wednesday from 12.30 to 1.30pm at the OASIS centre. Dave is one of the chaplains here at Flinders and a super nice guy.
Sessions are low-stakes. No complex jargon or weird rituals. Just a simple guided meditation from a dude with excellent hair. A chance to relax, unwind and focus.
If you find it helpful, you can then expand your understanding of mindfulness and start down a very worthwhile self-care road. You can then also look into our other mindfulness oriented programs: Mindful Yoga, Mindfulness for Academic Success.
Even if you are an experienced meditator, the chance for a group meditation, where the likelihood of someone levitating is at least .00006%, is too good an opportunity to miss.
So what are you waiting for?
Do yourself a mid-week favour and head over to the OASIS centre (building opposite carpark 5 – downstairs) on Wednesday at 12.30.
